2020-05-04 02:20:19 AB0GD: Started it with working from home in the corner of the family room. Found out that I needed to find a better spot where I was away from the dog and noise. Moved to quieter room. We stocked up on many things, but almost ran out of toilet paper. Found some before we reached emergency level. We have done well through it all, but really miss sitting down in a restaurant. FLDIGI- I have gone back to ver 4.1.11 due to 4.1.12 causing excessive CPU usage, about 33%. AB0GD
2020-05-04 02:20:43 KC0RRS: Waterfall is no longer smooth. I cannot afford jerky. RE SAH, cut down a 35foot beech tree that had become entangled with guy wires and G5RV Hoist ropes. When it came down, it buckled my pushup mast halfway up, and the 440Mhz colinear and the 220Mhz 1/4 wave and feedlines got entangled with the cable that delivers my Internet and telephone. I have no stepladder, and the pushup mast has rusted seized in the fully extended position. Hoping for light winds until I can enlist aid. 7 3 DE KC0RRS

2021-03-01 15:43:05 W0NRP: TEST IF FLMSG WILL SWITCH HIM TO THE RIGHT MODE
2021-03-01 15:43:05 W0NRP: ICS-213 FORM: Stay-at home experience from W0NRP: Since I am supposedly retired, I have (thankfully) not been impacted by loss of income. I do have tasks keeping me busy with maintaining a currently vacant rental property, which requires occasional trips to Home Depot and the hardware store. I have avoided those places on the weekend, as I was told that the waiting line was very long to enter the store at those times. I also took some time to rehabilitate my antenna system. My 80/40 "all band" trap dipole was useless on 20 meters, so I built a 20m monoband vertical and got it working well. Also, after some unsucsessful attempts to refurbish the trap dipole, I decided to try a multi-dipole. I also wound a common mode choke to use as a balun, and made a center support using 1/2" PVC to separate the dipoles at 6 inches apart. The top wire is copperweld cut for 1.9 MHz, the second wire is 14ga stranded insulated wire cut for 75m, and a third for 40m. Spreaders were made by cutting up PVC pipe into strips and drilling holes for the wires to pass through. Still need to devise a method of preventing them from moving along the wire. Initial tuning went very well at a few feet off the ground using a NanoVNA. Running it up the pole to height allowed a test contact for the first time on 160m. I still need to replace the coax, as I'm using 40+ year old RG59 and the antenna appeared to tune to 50 ohms at the feed point. Hopefully that will bring the SWR down on 160. We have been very fortunate in our family as all are able to continue without financial difficulty for the moment. But don't let me get started as to my opinion of the actions of the government(s)! 73, Neil
